The retrofit of industrial machines consists of updating obsolete machinery. These updates are usually motivated, in most cases, by the obsolescence of spare parts and, to a lesser extent, by the need to add new options to the machines or make them compatible with new modules in a production line.
The high costs of new machinery are leading more and more production plants to consider, once the depreciation period of their machines is over, the retrofit of the same by adding greater performance, new applications, and better safety systems to adapt them to the new regulations.
